Joe founded Oppidan Investment Company in 1991. His personal philosophy of always “deliver value” was instrumental in transforming Oppidan into a merchant real estate development leader. Over the years, Joe has assisted in developing more than $3 billion in real estate, serving more than 150 clients. He has completed more than 420 projects in 35 states equaling more than 15.8 million square feet of space.
As Oppidan President & Owner, Joe is responsible for the leadership of the company and its overall success. He creates, communicates and implements Oppidan’s vision, mission and overall direction to ensure all goals are surpassed and expectations are exceeded among internal and external stakeholders.
Prior to founding Oppidan, Joe was a shareholding partner of REI, Limited, and directed the operations of the Richard Ellis, Inc. office in Minneapolis. Joe was also Vice President of Asset Management at St. Paul Properties, Inc. where he was responsible for office, industrial, retail and apartment properties throughout the United States, with a portfolio valued at nearly $300 million.
Joe is a graduate of St. Thomas University where he received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Finance. He is also an active member of the Alzheimer’s Association and Children’s Hospital.
