Joe Ryan
Joe founded Oppidan Investment Company in 1991, guided by his personal belief in the importance of always "delivering value." This philosophy played a crucial role in positioning Oppidan as a leader in merchant real estate development. Throughout the years, Joe has contributed to the development of more than $4.9 billion in real estate with more than 150 clients. The Oppidan team with Joe’s support has successfully completed more than 590 projects across 42 states, totaling more than 30.4 million square feet of space.
As the Founder & CEO of Oppidan, Joe actively supports and inspires the company's vision, mission, and overall direction. Together with Oppidan’s strong executive leadership team, he drives the organization forward, ensuring goals are not only met, but surpassed, while also exceeding the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
Prior to founding Oppidan, Joe served as a shareholding partner at REI, Limited, and managed the operations of the Richard Ellis, Inc. office located in Minneapolis. Joe was also the Vice President of Asset Management at St. Paul Properties, Inc., overseeing office, industrial, retail, and apartment properties across the United States, with a portfolio valued at nearly $300 million.
Joe is a graduate of St. Thomas University where he received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Finance. He is also an active member of the Alzheimer’s Association and Children’s Hospital and a strong supporter of many other charities.
