Rob Steward

As Executive Vice President of Development – Southeast Region, Rob Steward leads Oppidan’s expansion and development efforts in the Southeast. He is responsible for sourcing new development opportunities in all product types and executing on these deals through the development life cycle.

Rob brings more than 17 years of real estate development experience, having worked on more than one million square feet of mixed-use, multifamily, retail, and hotel assets. Prior to joining Oppidan, he spent more than eight years at Hoffman & Associates, where he played a key role in shaping Seaboard Station in Raleigh and other high-profile projects. His experience also includes serving as Director at Hines Interests, where he led multifamily and office developments in Washington, DC, and Maryland, and Director in CBRE’s capital markets group, advising on over $1 billion in annual asset dispositions. His leadership has been recognized with awards such as Raleigh’s Best New Apartment Community and two Downtown Raleigh Alliance Imprint Awards for contributions to the city’s economic development.

An active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the ICSC, Rob is deeply engaged in the commercial real estate community and committed to advancing smart, sustainable development in the Southeast. He earned his MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic & State University (Virginia Tech). Away from the office, Rob enjoys supporting his two sons in their sports activities, while also finding time to play pickleball and tennis.
