Drew Johnson

As Senior Vice President of Development, Drew is responsible for sourcing and executing both development and investment projects with a focus on retail, housing, mixed-use and critical infrastructure. His role includes identifying, pursuing and finalizing development opportunities for Oppidan’s clients. He works closely with his clients to guide them through the entire development process, from site selection to development strategy to city processes and lease negotiations. Drew has developed large and complex projects nationally, including gaining deep experience in obtaining project approvals within the highly-regulated California land-use environment.

Prior to joining Oppidan in 2014, Drew worked at CSM Properties and United Properties where he completed more than $200 million in retail and mixed-use developments and redevelopments across seven states. He has a wide range of retail, industrial and medical office development experience.

Drew is a current member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association, Urban Land Institute and the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks. He is also frequently asked to serve as a guest speaker at various Minnesota real estate industry events. He is an urban mixed-use development specialist, focusing on challenging infill development in dense urban areas.

Drew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and History from Colby College.

When he isn’t working, Drew enjoys coaching youth sports, taking part in outdoor activities and general aviation flying.
