Oppidan transitions leadership team; poised for additional growth in 2024
Increased activity in industrial, senior housing, affordable housing and mission critical development
Excelsior, Minn. – (February 20, 2024) – Oppidan Investment Company, a national property development firm headquartered in Excelsior, Minn., announced Blake Hastings has decided to leave Oppidan and go back to his roots on the advisory side of the industry. In 2018, Hastings joined Oppidan in the newly created role of President. Joe Ryan, Oppidan CEO, along with the rest of the Leadership Team – including Dave Scott, EVP and General Council; Matt Allman, Chief Financial Officer; and Pat Barrett, Chief Operating Officer – will assume the roles previously filled by the President.
Oppidan's footprint across the country is expanding and the company continues to rise in the list of Twin Cities Top Developers. Since 1991, Oppidan has developed 590 projects valued in excess of $4.9 billion and spanning 30.4 million square feet throughout 42 states and parts of Canada. Notable growth includes:
- Expansion in the southeast, including opening a third office in Apex, North Carolina.
- Increased industrial activity, including a $157.3M, nine-property industrial pipeline covering 1.55 million square feet on three development sites in Minnesota and North Carolina.
- Continued growth in senior housing, including developing three new communities in California and three new communities in Minnesota.
- Entering a new asset type and breaking ground on its first affordable housing community.
- Expansion of repeat retail clients throughout the US.
- Continued growth in our Mission Critical initiative across the US.
