Oppidan breaks ground on senior living community in Newport Beach

This is Oppidan’s third senior living community in California

Newport Beach, Calif. – (May 12, 2022) – Oppidan, a national property development firm headquartered in Excelsior, Minn., today announced the development of a luxury senior living community in Newport Beach, California (101 Bayview Place). Clearwater Living, which operates seven senior living communities throughout California and Nevada, will operate this new community once construction is completed.

This development marks Oppidan’s third senior living community in California. Oppidan has developed The Watermark at Napa Valley and is completing the development of The Hacienda Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. Oppidan has also developed nine Pillars Senior Living Communities throughout Minnesota.

The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

This new 117,000 square-foot senior living community will offer 101 apartments with assisted living and memory care options. The community will begin accepting residents in early 2024. Unique to this senior living community is a beautiful interior courtyard with full sized Olive trees, decorative lighting, a courtyard bar and lounge seating. Additional amenities include a theater, salon, spa, fitness and wellness center, activity and game rooms, a wine vault, community dining room, pub and numerous outdoor spaces.

The project’s general contractor is W.E. O’Neil, the architect is Douglas Pancake Architects and the interior designer is Klang & Associates.
