$80 Million Industrial Park Breaks Ground in Henderson County

A new $80 million industrial park is breaking ground in Henderson County. The park, to be called the Blue Ridge Commerce Center, will include 654,000 square feet of industrial and warehouse space. According to the developers, the Minnesota-based Oppidan Investment Company, the spaces are designed to be flexible to better serve the needs of its users.

The groundbreaking event took place on Thursday, October 6th just as bulldozers and work crews showed up to begin construction. According to Brittany Brady, with the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, it’s part of a broader commitment on the part of the county. “Henderson County is open for business,” she says. “We have a strong economic base that’s allowed us to grow that base for our citizens and enjoy the amenities because of the tax base.”

Those in attendance expressed their commitment to luring businesses and jobs to the quickly growing county. It’s a shared goal that all agree could be a will for everyone. Tim Brent, Executive Vice President at Oppidan, emphasized their commitment, “We’re huge believers in North Carolina, in Western North Carolina and we just see a lot of great attributes in the region.”
