Ian Halker

As Senior Vice President Real Estate Developer, Ian is responsible for sourcing and identifying new development opportunities for Oppidan from inception to disposition. Ian maintains oversight of all aspects of the development process, including managing and overseeing site acquisition, due diligence, market evaluation and analysis, budgeting, negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, conceptual design, entitlements and approval process, and management of the overall project schedule and economics

Prior to joining Oppidan in 2017, Ian worked as a Senior Associate at Welsh & Colliers International, where he specialized in retail tenant representation and worked with retailers of all sizes as they entered the Minnesota market. Ian’s portfolio included more than two million square feet of commercial space for institutional and mid-sized real estate property owners/ developers.

Ian is member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is a former Next Generation State Chair for Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. He is also a Lean Committee Member for Urban Land Institute, and a member of MNCAR and NAIOP.

Ian graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Housing Studies with an emphasis in Finance and Management.
