Minneapolis' Oppidan developing its first industrial park

Minneapolis-based Oppidan Investment Company has purchased 121 acres of land surrounding the airport in Stanley, N.D., for development of the company’s first industrial park. Pioneer Energy Services, a provider of land drilling and production services to oil and gas companies, will be the Stanley Airport Industrial Park’s first tenant. Construction is already underway on a 7,200-square foot facility for Pioneer. At this time, only Pioneer’s Wireline Services group is expanding its presence into Stanley.

The facility will allow Pioneer wireline services crews to store their trucks and equipment for servicing oil wells throughout North Dakota’s Bakken shale region. The facility will open in November of this year.

“We’ve been on the ground in North Dakota’s Bakken region for two years now, which provides us with an unique opportunity to respond to the market needs associated with the oil and energy growth there,” said Jay Moore, developer with Oppidan. “We saw a strong need for another industrial park in the region, and so we’re using our expertise to fulfill that need. We’re thrilled to have Pioneer as our first tenant.”

The Stanley Airport Industrial Park can accommodate any size user, and users can lease or own a facility that Oppidan will build to suit.
