Oppidan hires Jim Hornecker
Plymouth-based Oppidan Investment Co. has hired former Supervalu executive Jim Hornecker as its new retail development consultant, the developer announced Wednesday.
Hornecker, who spent the last eight years with Supervalu as a senior manager and then director of real estate, will help expand Oppidan’s grocery and retail business.
“We are very excited to welcome Jim to our team,” Joe Ryan, CEO of Oppidan, said in a prepared statement. “While our retail team continues to be very highly regarded in the industry, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to further strengthen it, particularly in the grocery category, with the hiring of Jim.”
Hornecker developed and executed Supervalu development plans exceeding $50 million during his time with the company. He has also worked as director of real estate, construction and maintenance for Coborn’s Inc. and as a real estate manager for Albertson’s.
Oppidan has worked actively with such retailers as Cub Foods, Gander Mountain, Goodwill and Shopko to develop new locations all over the country.
